The 4 star Parador de Santo Estevo is a new hotel housed in an ancient building which is believed to date back to the 6th century and has been declared a monument of historical and artistic significance. In addition to the magnificent 18th century façade and the three cloisters "De la Porteria", "De la Cocina" and "De los Obispos" there is also a stunning staircase within the building.
Gothic, Romanesque and Baroque origins make the Parador de Santo Estevo unique and one of the attractions of this area. Guests can also follow the Romanesque Route, Route of the Vantage Points, the Catamaran Route or visit nearby towns and cities.
Each of the 74 double and single rooms provides a unique and modern design and are situated in the three cloisters. Facilities such as satellite TV, a direct dial telephone telephone, mini bar, safety deposit box and en suite bathroom are provided in all of them. Some also offer views over the River Sil.
A bar can be found in the cloister "De la Porteri´a". There is also a restaurant available which serves mainly fish and other fresh local products, but also offers traditional Galician dishes and meats. Guests will be able to enjoy their meal either inside or outside on the patio.
The parador de Santo Estevo is surrounded by extensive gardens and has two function rooms for meetings, banquets, seminars or other events.

History:
This Parador is housed in the Santo Estevo de Rivas de Sil Monastery, in Ourense, in an area known as the birthplace of the “afiladores y paraguerios” (knife sharpeners and umbrella holders). The Monastery is one of Galicia’s oldest, founded in the 6th Century, the original building is Romanesque, although shows Gothic tendencies. Several parts have been preserved intact, among them the 18th Century baroque façade, its monumental staircase and its three cloisters.

How to get there:
The main access road to Santo Estevo, in Ourense, can be reached from the A-52 (Madrid-Benavente-Vigo) which passes through Ourense. Once there, take the C-536 road towards “Pobra de Trives” and at km.7 take the road towards Luintra and continue to Santo Estevo de Rivas de Sil.
