The Parador de Merida is a four star hotel which is housed in an 18th century building with a long and interesting history. Before it became a hotel it served as a temple, a church, a hospital, a Roman forum, a mosque and even a jail. The building has been occupied by the Christians, Moors, Visigoths and Romans.

How to get there:
The Parador is located in the centre of the town. Mérida is 60 km from Badajoz and 350 km from Madrid along the main N-V road, and 70 km from Cáceres and 200 from Sevilla on the N-630.
