The four star Parador de la Gomera is a luxurious manor house offering views to the Island of Tenerife and Mount Teide in the Canary Islands. The interior is filled with marine decorations and navigational instruments based on the ships of Columbus which set sail from this island for America.
The parador stands in large subtropical gardens with a swimming and has an interior which combines Castilian and Isabelline styles. It has fifty two twin bedded rooms, six rooms with a double bed and two suites. All the rooms have a private bathroom, telephone, television with TV canal plus and satellite and a mini bar.
Regional specialities served in the hotel restaurant include "Cazuela de pescados gomeros" which is a fish casserole; "Lomos de conejo rellenos" succulent stuffed rabbit loin and "Potaje de berros" watercress soup.
If you walk through the main city of San Sebastian de la Gomera you can visit the Conde Tower, the church of Asuncion, the Aguada Well and the Columbus House where Christopher Columbus lodged before his departing for America.
The Garajonay National Park which is a World Heritage site and is an island well worth exploring with deep gorges, enormous rocks, curious cliff formations and small beaches of black volcanic sand. If you climb up to the Garajonay Peak you will experience incredible views of the Atlantic Ocean with the Tenerife Island and Mount Teide visible in the background.

The Parador is set on the so-called Lomo de la Horca, to the right of the avenue which links the San Sebastián quay with the town, 60 m above sea level. The island is reached by boat or plane from Puerto de los Cristianos in Tenerife and Gran Canaria.
