The three star Parador de Fuente De is a modern mountain refuge located on the foothills of the dramatic Picos de Europa surrounded by woods and hills on the fertile Liébana Valley in Cantabria. The Parador de Fuente De is at the bottom of the cable car which goes up to Áliva.
The parador has 54 twin, 18 double and 6 single rooms. They all come equipped with a private bathroom, telephone, satellite television and a mini bar. The mountain chalet style décor and warm wood and leather furniture create a very friendly and comfortable atmosphere at this hotel.
The restaurant specialises in traditional Cantabrian cuisine such as "Cocido lebaniego" which is a local stew of the Liebana valley; "Ensalada de gallo de corral" which is a chicken salad made with free range cockerel; "Solomillo al queso de Tresviso" - sirloin steak with Tresviso cheese and "Lomos de venado con salsa de arándanos" which is venison with a blueberry sauce. If you want to visit to the Cantabrian villages of this region you can start off in the monastery of Santo Toribio de Liebana, followed by the church of Santa Maria and the Infantado Tower in Potes. Other interesting monasteries are Piasca and the pre-Roman church of Lebena. You can explore the village of Mogrovejo, and visit the Liebana viewpoint located in the villages of Cahecho and Luriezo.
Or you can hire a mountain bike, horse or 4x4 to explore and enjoy the Picos de Europa ("Peaks of Europe") mountains. We recommend you follow Cares route on foot, walking from Poncebos to Cain or take the cable railway up to the Aliva viewpoint where you can enjoy a spectacular view of the Peaks.

At the end of the road which leads from Potes to Fuente Dé. From Santander, follow the A-8 to Unquera, exit at the N-621 highway towards Potes-Parque Nacional de los Picos de Europa, and follow the Desfiladero de la Hermida mountain pass to Potes and Fuente Dé.
