The three star Parador de Cervera de Pisuerga is built in the style of a five storey hunting lodge and situated in the Fuentes Carrionas Nature Reserve surrounded by the Picos de Europa Mountains and blue waters of the Ruesga reservoir.
The 64 twin, 8 double and 8 single bedrooms are very comfortable and have a private bathroom, a telephone, satellite television, in room safe and a mini bar. They are very spacious and comfortable with balconies overlooking the reserve.
The elegant and traditional interior or the parador de Cervera de Pisuerga is in the style of a traditional hunting lodge with wood panelled walls decorated with wild animal heads, beamed ceilings and colour provided by brightly painted ceramics.
The restaurant has beautiful views over the Ruesga reservoir and offers traditional Castilian cooking including hand-made sausages, veal steak, trout with bacon, garlic soup and "leche frita" which is a dessert of custard with a caramel topping.
Attractions in the town include the fortified church of Santa Maria del Castillo which stands a top the hill. Inside there are some very peaceful cloisters. The summer festivals held in Carver are: San Cristobal on the second Sunday of July; Santa Marta held on July 29th and the Festival of Neustria Senora and San Roué held on August 15th and 16th every year. It is also worth exploring the small villages in the area and the Natural Park which is an area rich in wild orchids and butterflies.
