The four star Parador de Cardona is a medieval castle with a second century Minyona tower and eleventh century Romanesque church of San Vicente which stands on a headland in a fortified ninth century enclosure. Its location offers an exceptional view of the town and fertile plains surrounding the River Cardoner.
Moats, towers, walls and Gothic architecture combine with Catalan-inspired medieval furniture . There is a gothic cloister, patio and an ancient cistern for the storage of water.

During the season delicious dishes made with wild mushrooms are available and the meal can be finished with a selection of cheeses from the impressive cheese and sausage board. How to get there:
Located on a hill opposite the town of Cardona, the Parador is 85 km from Barcelona. The A-18 motorway, leaving Manresa towards Solsona, is the main means of access. From Lleida, take the C-1313 motorway heading towards Seu dUrgell and exit at Solsona.
