The Parador de Canadas del Teide offers guests a unique opportunity to stay in the Chaorra crater of an extinct volcano. This is the only building in the Teide Nature Reserve which rises 2,200 metres above the island of Tenerife
This parador is built in the style of a mountain lodge with terraces offering impressive views of the Teide. It is worth visiting the nearby towns of La Laguna, Villa de la Orotava and Garachico and the natural parks of Anaga and Teno. If you are fond of plants then go to the Icod de los Vinos, and the botanical garden in Puerto de la Cruz.
This Parador has 28 twin bedded rooms, 6 rooms with double beds, one single room and 2 suites all equipped with a private bathroom, telephone, satellite television and a mini bar. There is central heating, a gymnasium, sauna and a heated swimming pool. Due to its height above sea level air conditioning is not necessary at this parador.
The restaurant serves exquisite and original Canary Islands including "Puchero Canario" which is the local stew, "conejo al salmorejo" which is a rabbit dish and "papas arrugas y mojos" (potatoes in their skins served with typical dipping sauces).

History:
This building is a high mountain house with impressive panoramic views over the island of Tenerife, built more than 2.000 meters above the sea level. It is the only building in the Teide National Park, its interior recreates the ambience of a mountain lodge both in the common rooms and bedrooms, and has terraces with impressive panoramic views.
